Indigenous Education
At Warranara Primary School, we believe that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories, cultures, and knowledge systems are essential to a true and inclusive understanding of Australia.
We are committed to embedding Indigenous perspectives in our curriculum through respectful, culturally safe practices that support all learners

How We Embed Indigenous Perspectives
✅ AITSL Standard 1.4 – We use strategies to engage Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students through meaningful content and community connections.
✅ AITSL Standard 2.4 – We develop our own knowledge to confidently teach Indigenous content in a respectful way.
In our classrooms, we:
-
Use stories, songs, and language from local communities
-
Acknowledge Country and display First Nations artwork
-
Study historical and contemporary issues from Indigenous perspectives
-
Invite Elders and community members to share knowledge
-
Participate in Reconciliation Week, NAIDOC Week, and Sorry Day
